Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry Team was organized in January of 2003, charged with the purpose of eccouraging and increasing the practice of prayer in the life of our congregation. They did this through the organization of monthly prayer "events".

January - Special time was set aside and rooms prepared for people to pray for McCook Christian Church before and during our worship services.
February - Prayer partners were recuited for Faith Weaver Friends kids. The Prayer partners were supplied pictures of the children as prayer reminders.
March - 24 Hour Prayer Vigil. At least one person from McCook Christian Church was praying during an entire 24 hour period.
April - Palm Sunday Prayer Service. A special service of inspiration and prayer was held on Sunday evening.
May - Prasyer calenders sharing daily prayer pointers were distributed to the congregation.
June - A Prayer Walk was conducted at Barnett Park.
July - An encouragementwas given to pray for the Youth's Mission Trip.
August - Prayer pointers were distributed to Sunday School Classes and Small Group Bible studies.
September - Prayer Circle (Rectangle) at the tent service at the new property.
October - Recruited Prayer Partners for those who were making visits for the Expanding The Vision capital campaign.
November - 24 hour vigil focusing on the Expanding The Vision campaign.
December - Prayer Coupons for giving another the gift of prayer were distributed to the congregation.

The Prayer Ministry Team meets bi-monthly on Monday evenings, if you have any ideas for them or even an interest in serving on the team just contact one of the members. The members include: Karma Rousselle, Grace Hanthorn, Kayla Guthrie, Wendy Gillen, Roy and Mildred Mustion .
