"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19. This great commission that Jesus gave to His disciples serves as the mission of the missions ministry of McCook Christian Church. Each year 15% of the church's general offerings are set aside for the support of missionary efforts both in the states and around the world. A number of missions receive regular monthly support and there are other gifts which are given annually.
The activities of the mission ministry team include: informing the congregation of mission activities, pray for missions, plan and host an annual missions weekend, plan and help coordinate mission trips, support and encourage missionaries, and explore new missions.
The missions ministry team meets monthly on the third Wednesday at noon at the church to pray for our missionaries and discuss the news and needs of our missionaries. Everyone from the congregation is welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings on a regular basis.
